Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care (Adults)

Study Method
The programme is divided into half-day classroom sessions covering each of the units individually. A unit will be achieved when the candidate has successfully demonstrated competence in both theory and practical aspects of the units.
Duration
One half day per week, over 18 weeks, overall completion (including assessment) up to one year.
Who the Course is For
The NVQ Care Level 3 is a vocational qualification, which confirms that a candidate is competent to national standards both in theory and practice.
This should be with any adult or elderly client group. |
Assessment
You will be required to attend college to cover the theory of care. To assess your understanding of the theory, questions or assignments will be set by the college tutor and assessed by your assessor.
Course Leads To
An NVQ Level 3 is equivalent to Senior Carer Level. It can also be considered for entry in nursing. Progression onto Management level would be dependent on obtaining an NVQ Level 4.

Entry Requirements
Candidates must have NVQ Care Level 2 or equivalent and have appropriate experience up to Senior Care level with a degree of supervisory responsibilities.
You should be in paid employment, in an appropriate care setting for at least 2 days per week.
As the NVQ is a vocational qualification, candidates should ensure that they are experienced enough for the level. A reference from an employer will be required. This will be discussed at the interview
Content
The Level 3 programme consists of 8 units of competence, which need to be achieved in order to obtain the full qualification.
